About us

Robert is a computer 'geek' and I say that in the most affectionate way possible! He keeps our home network up and running. Right now he works for Convergys in Orem in their technical support department for Netapp. Rob has the most common sense out of anyone I've ever met. He also is one of the most 'creative' people I have EVER known. Within minutes of getting a 'new toy' he's got it taken apart figuring out how to 'maximize' it's potential.

Heather is a 'die hard' animal lover. Rob is VERY tolerant of her zoo. Right now she has 6 cats, 2 dogs, 5 birds, 1 RES Turtle, 1 Betta Fish, 1 Tank of guppies (see The Thompson Zoo) for more about their daily adventures. Rob is very understanding, and coming from a background of not really an animal lover other than birds, he's quite taken with them :) Heather works full time for her father at Camelot Pet Resort, Spa & Health Center in Bountiful, she is the Manager and Veterinary Technician. Heather is also an Independant Representative for several direct sales companies, she offers Gourmet Food, Scrapbooking, Pet Supplies, Candles and Natural Home Care products.

Danny & His Family have a dog!

So last year for the family reunion Rob and I took Zoey (chihuahua) & Duncan (toy poodle) to the Sims Family Campout, his kids absolutely loved it! They were walking them around on their leashes, carrying them around, taking turns. They were perfect little ladies and gentlemen about it. Anyways Danny & Kristy sort of 'joked' about us giving them Zoey the little Chi, well Zoey has so many health issues I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy....so I declined...plus I would be heartbroken I think. Anyways Tyson asked for a dog for Christmas and was CERTAIN he was getting one. Then EVERY time they have come to visit since he has to see what dogs we have for adoption. A few weeks ago Rob and I decided that Duncan (toy poodle) needed more than what we could offer him, he is a very energetic, loving dog, but gets jealous of the other dogs. He was spoiled rotten before we got him. So I called Danny to see if he still wanted a dog, Kristy and Danny discussed it, then decided to 'surprise' his kids. So on the day before they left to go back to Canada they came down to the clinic to say 'goodbye.' Anyways as usual Tyson went and checked to see who was for adoption, then Danny told me "Go get him" so I went and got Duncan. Tyson got all excited, and asked if he was for adoption I told him yes, then he asked his dad and Danny told him "Ask Aunt Heather". So I asked him if he would take good care of him becuase I couldn't let him go if he wasn't going to take good care of him" He was adamant about the fact that he would. So Duncan went home with Danny & his family to Canada.

Family Barbeque

My family helped us IMMENSELY when we moved, Danny, Michael, Jonathan and my dad all came out last week and helped us pack and load up a Budget Truck. We got everything moved, then my dad helped us move a washer/dryer that night but it was too heavy to move downstairs especially since Rob could barely stand because of his gout. Anyways to thank my family (Danny especially since he was down here from Canada) we put together a last minute barb-q and invited everyone over. Everyone but Jen & Mike were there. It was fun.
Here are some pictures:

Nathan
He's not excited or anything? He just turned Six on the 23rd of July But honoring a Briggs family tradition (whenever we'd get together we'd celebrate the current and/or prior months birthdays), we sang to Nate as well :) He's too cute for words!

Welcome to our blog

Heather here, figured it was time to start a blog for Rob & I as to keep friends and family up on the goings on in our lives.

I currently have a couple of other blogs
The Thompson Zoo (for my fur kids)
Setareh Creations (for my businesses)
& No Time To Weight (self explanatory)

Feel free to browse them at your leisure! Rob & I just moved to Lehi, Utah (by Provo) actually are right down the street from Thanksgiving Point, a couple of weeks ago. We decided that we weren't going to pay $1700.00 for the house we were renting as we felt it was outrageous and the landlord is dreaming if she thinks she can get that much for a 3 bedroom 2 bath, one level unfinished basement in that area. Also considering that she wanted to jump our rent from $1390-$1700 immediately. She also wanted to sell us the house for $260,000 when houses in that area were going for $209,000, and not selling well due to an elementary school that was recently built. Plus Rob was driving 1 hour to work each way as we lived in West Jordan which was VERY VERY far west, if you are familiar with Utah we were a couple of blocks away from Usana Amphitheater...again not another bonus when dealing with concert traffic. I normally drive about 1/2 an hour to work. So we looked for something in the middle. We love it! The HOA fees cover cable, internet, water, sewer, garbage, and lawn care (except fenced backyard) and snow removal! YAH! We love our backyard as it is a solid wood deck with a small garden area around the perimeter. I will have to take pictures. This townhouse sort of 'fell' into our laps, and we are renting with the option to lease to own for now. We have 3 bedrooms 2.5 baths with 3 levels, unfinished basement. My FAVORITE feature is the pantry in the kitchen it is at least 4x the size of the one in West Jordan. I can now put all my food away with room to put my soda, and extra appliances out of site, AND still have counter space! WAHOO!

We went on our church's website to find out what time our church will be at it said it started at 2:30 in the afternoon! YIKES! When we pulled up in our U-Haul a couple of gentlemen from the ward came by and then came back with about 5 or 6 other guys and they helped us move everything in. They put the boxes/furniture in the appropriate rooms which helped us out SO much! It was like 100 degrees and Rob was really hurting with his knees, so it was slow going. My brother Jon, helped us out some as well. Anyways we asked them when church was and I guess I would have opted for the 2:30 as our church starts at 8:30 in the morning! ARGGHH! WAY early! Rob and I have been blessed with 9:00 am church all 3 years of our marriage. We moved one year and promptly had 9:00 am church, then our ward split that same year and we had 1:00 church for a few months then right back at 9:00 am. It wouldn't be so bad but Rob works Sat nights and doesn't get home until 12:00am.
